The four star deluxe island hideaway offers contemporary beachfront accommodation in a serene location, where guests can indulge in total relaxation or participate in a wide range of leisure activities and cultural excursions. Guests can swim in the fresh water pool or in the beautiful Pacific Ocean, play tennis or sip a cocktail at the Bar as they watch the sun set, and take all the time they need to discover the magic of this beautiful Island.
The island topography features a volcanic cone jutting out of the aqua waters , and is clad with dense bush and palm trees, the brilliance of the vegetation contrasting magnificently with the white curved sandy beach and pristine coral reefs.
Paradise awaits at Matamanoa Island Resort. Only steps away from the Pacific Ocean and nestled amongst soaring coconut palms lay the resort’s beautifully appointed Beachfront Villas and Bures, a few steps beyond that lay the charming Garden Resort Rooms.
The 47 rooms, villas and bures are a blend of contemporary design infused with Fijian flare. The Villas and bures are free standing and each accommodate up to 3 adults.
Ten absolute Beachfront Villas are located on the private, north facing beach, each featuring their own private plunge pool, outdoor shower and outdoor thatched Gazebo with daybed. The generous indoor area features two split level rooms and access to complementary high-speed Wi-Fi. Villas accommodate a maximum of three adults.
Twenty four absolute Beachfront Bures including eight Bures facing east, perfectly situated to capture the sunrise, and sixteen facing west capturing the sunset, feature their own private plunge pool and outdoor thatched Gazebo with daybed.
Thirteen Garden View Resort Rooms located only steps away from the beach and central resort area feature a king split bed and covered veranda. Resort Rooms accommodate a maximum of two adults.
Guests at Matamanoa enjoy complimentary use of all non-motorised activities, snorkelling the pristine waters of the marine sanctuary only steps away from the beach; kayaking over the beautiful coral reefs or Hobie Cat sailing out to the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean. For the more energised, guests can challenge the Activities Team to beach Volleyball or join them on a guided mountain hike, challenge their partner to a game of Tennis or Table Tennis.
The resort has an in house PADI 5 star operator “Deep Blue Diving and Watersports” offering access to over 30 dive sites within the Mamanuca Islands: guests can dive shallow reefs, explore pinnacles, wrecks, and experience shark encounters. Free diving is also available.
Deep Blue Diving and Watersports also offers a variety of excursions from Matamanoa Island: guests can visit the sacred Monuriki Island, the famous location of Tom Hank’s movie ‘Cast Away’; call on the local village, Tavua, home to most of the Matamanoa staff; try their hand at light tackle or sport fishing or join the daily guided snorkel safari.
Fijian culture is interwoven throughout the island experience; guests can observe the Matamanoa Family perform the Meke, a traditional style of dance; join in a Kava ceremony; experience the Lovo, a traditional style of cooking, or visit the local village where life has remained unchanged for generations.
At Nama Treetop Spa, professionally certified therapists offer a full range of spa and “Sea to Skin” therapies that will leave guests feeling refreshed and restored.
Vale Ni Blau (House of Waves), is Matamanoa’s restaurant, where the Executive Chef and his team offer international and Fijian inspired cuisine served against the backdrop of the enchanting South Pacific Ocean and Fijian Islands. Full American breakfast is complementary with all bookings. Dinner menus change nightly, and guests can choose from daily lunch blackboard specials.
Guests may opt for a Half Board or Full Board Meal package.
Matamanoa Island Resort is set in the beautiful Mamanuca Islands approximately 30 kilometres West of Nadi International Airport. Guests can reach the island in 15 minutes by helicopter or 2.5 hours by launch. A 24 hour water taxi service is also available.
