Offbeat Mara Camp is a small, traditional semi-permanent camp situated on an unspoilt part of Masailand within the Mara North Conservancy (MNC). The Mara North Conservancy spans 74,000 acres and is an area rich in wildlife providing excellent viewing opportunities all year round, including the Offbeat Lion pride just outside of camp, combined with regular sightings of cheetah and leopard. The MNC has low camp/lodge density and is open only to member camps, with a strict number of vehicles permitted at sightings.
Offbeat Mara has taken the traditional camping term and turned it into something rather special – fantastic guiding, a relaxed intimate atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and outstanding management will make you feel right at home. Offbeat Mara Camp works closely with the local Maasai community and the majority of staff are from this area.
The camp sleeps a maximum of 20 guests in 5 large double/twin ensuite tents and two family tents. Family tents have an extra bedroom and bathroom facilities. The ensuite bathrooms have hot safari/bucket showers, double wash basins and flush toilets.
The spacious tents are all furnished with large, cedar beds, solar lighting and have fantastic views from their verandahs. Each tent is carefully positioned to provide wonderful views as well as privacy.

Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or forest deck. Breakfasts, lighter lunches and 3 course dinners are served each evening. Guests can also relax at the bar or by the fire in the living room area which is furnished with comfortable sofas. The mess tent has WiFi and charging facilities between 6pm-10pm.
Rates include full board accommodation, unlimited game drives, walking safaris, meals, house wines, spirits, beer, soft drinks and laundry. For bookings of 4 people or more guests have exclusive use of vehicle at no extra cost.
Excluded from rates are champagne, late departure fees, extra lunch, visits to the Masai village, private use of vehicle and staff gratuities.
Offbeat Mara Camp is located in the Mara North Conservancy just north of the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
Air Kenya and Safarilink fly 3 times daily from Nairobi to MARA NORTH airstrip. The camp is approximately 1 hour’s game drive away from the airstrip. There is also a daily air service to Mara North from Loisabe, Nanyuki and the coast.
Private air charters also fly to Mara North airstrip.
Offbeat Mara Camp is approximately 5 hours drive from Nairobi (4×4 vehicle required).
Families are welcome at Offbeat Mara. Babysitting Services are available.
Children’s activities include beading workshops with local Maasai women, bushwalking, archery, fishing & cookie decoration.

The camp Is open from January to mid-April, June to Mid-November and the whole of December. The Mara offers amazing wildlife viewing throughout the year and features the annual wildebeest migration in July to September.
