The original ranch house was built in the 1940’s by Italian artisans and has been beautifully restored to accommodate up to 14 people. The original main house provides classic elegance with a dining room, sitting room, bar and billiards room and an expansive verandah with views over the Laikipia plateau.
In addition, four charming double cottages offering a unique combination of rustic elegance and modern comfort are located throughout the gardens, set against a back drop of Mt Kenya. Featuring ensuite bathrooms, large verandas, and stunning views, they are perfect for couples or families.
Sosian Lodge offers an array of activities that allow guests to immerse themselves in the wild beauty of Laikipia including day & night game drives, horse riding, bush walking, fishing, camel treks, cycling, waterfall jumping, river tubing, kayaking, swimming & cattle ranchin
Games drives at Sosian are in open 4×4 Land Rovers with specially raised seats to allow the best wildlife viewing. With many years of careful management, the wildlife on Sosian has flourished. The private reserve is fortunate enough to have a diverse cross section of habitats that hosts a long list of birds and mammals, including elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, kudu, oryx, impala, warthog, plus many smaller predators such as bat-eared foxes, genet cats and serval cats. There is also over 350 species of birds on Sosian.
Being a private conservancy guests may also experience the bush and its nocturnal animals with a spot light at night. Adventurous guests can spend a night under the stars in a fly camp deep in the bush, an unforgettable experience.
The lodge has a swimming pool where families can relax and cool off after a day of adventures, plus a tennis court for the more active. Massage treatments are also available.

Sosian Lodge is located in Laikipia, Kenya, which is approximately 300 kilometers north of Nairobi. To get to Sosian Lodge from Nairobi, guests can either take a domestic flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Nanyuki Airstrip near Sosian Lodge or opt for a road transfer which offers a scenic drive through Kenya’s beautiful landscapes. The journey by road typically takes around 4-5 hours.
