Location & Access

Located in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Vakkaru is accessible via a scenic 30-minute seaplane flight from Male International Airport. Vakkaru is also accessible via a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo followed by a 30-minute speedboat ride.

Best Time to Travel

The Maldives is stunning year-round, but the dry season from November to April offers the calmest seas and sunniest skies. For manta ray encounters at Hanifaru Bay, plan your visit between June and November, when these graceful giants return to the Baa Atoll.
